6th grade art gallery with mrs. deziel
Sixth Graders are each taking art class for one entire interim this year. We discussed design in advertising and its importance to successfully selling a product be it online or in the store. Students reproduced their names into a famous product or company logo. Using technology, students chose their I-pads as the medium of choice to create superimposed self portraits based on famous paintings. Symmetry was the basis for the colorful Abstract Art project. Students were learning about the Historical Silk Road trade routes in their World Cultures class and the importance of porcelain used for trading. Students were then inspired to draw and etch their own porcelain Ming vases using oil pastels, white acrylic paint and wooden skewers used as etching tools.
